Meet Our Inspiration:
Early Grayce and Allie Woo Woo
Early Grayce Young
July 4, 1994 - August 9, 2010
My loyal best friend. My first 'baby'. Knowing you were there when I got home everyday, made my day. I miss everything about you and love you so.
Allie Woo Woo, age 6
NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER
I give you this one thought to keep --
I am with you still – I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone –
I am with you still – in each new dawn.
"No matter what life throws at you, find a way to laugh or sing"
...left the world peacefully on his mom's favorite chair on February 5, 2011. At Rainbow Bridge he'll be the one wearing a brand new Dutch bandana his mom just bought for him.
A note from mom:
Duke was my heating pad, on those days I hurt so much. But last night I dreamed of him singing his Walrus bass with Allie beside him singing her wooooo's. I am glad they are together, I can even see them there with Taffy and so many other rescues I have had the privilege of meeting. I can’t help but cry for missing the smiling face and warm kisses. Until Rainbow Bridge where we meet again. I will ALWAYS love you!

Paco soon traveled everywhere with me, and became quite the spokesdog for rescue dogs and the horror of puppy mills. He shared stories from all over the world about rescue dogs in need.
Sadly Paco crossed over the bridge Dec 8, 2012 , but not without leaving behind a lifetime of love, tireless work, and many people whose lives he has changed forever. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Paco stands for all we as rescuers fight to defeat: animal abuse, puppy mills and adopting instead of buying. He may have been small in size, but he was large in the life he led. Run free Paco, you have done well.
The other night the wind blew hard and woke me up, rattling the windows. Little did I know It was Duke and Allie coming to tell me they were together again, playing and singing. I cry each day; I miss them both so much. But I know they had a ruff start in life, and instead of me rescuing them, they rescued me, and were loved till the end.
Need help dealing with your mourning? There are loads of books available for children, seniors and everyone in between--even workbooks for the little ones. Check out the Rainbow Bridge Resource Roundup to see what might be helpful to you and your family.

Belle
d. 2005
Our much loved 'angel' dog: Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog, Belle. I rescued her from the Seminole Animal Services facility in August of 1996. Belle died unexpectedly and suddenly from a misdiagnosed cancerous tumor on the evening Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005.
Bandit
d. January 9, 2010
My beautiful friend and "soul dog"; it was the worst day of my life when you passed. Bandit is an old soul, so I know he is around me - I miss him in my life EVERY day.

One of our very special Hong Kong Feral Dogs (we used to live out there) who was sadly taken from us too early...We still have her twin sister, Poppy, who is also totally adorable (but doesn't everyone say that about their own dogs?!!)
Cassie
1982-1996Cassie (or Pooh-Bear or Bunny because she always jumped when she was excited) was my childhood pet and BFF. Cassie was a Shetland Sheepdog. I got her in 1983 when I was 10 years old. She was given to my mom but she chose to be my dog. And thank goodness for that. I had a rough childhood and she really helped me through it. I don't know what I would have done without her. I still get teary-eyed when I think of her. She was truly a gift from God.
Xena, Warrior Princess
December 12,1996- October 17, 2010
We will miss your sock-frolics, wrestling matches, soft snoring and most of all, your loyal affection. Rest well, sweet princess. Grandpa will be at the Rainbow Bridge to give you a belly rub.
Abbey "Our Little Princess"
June 24, 1995-October 11, 2009
Abbey brought us much fun and joy. We selected her just several weeks after we lost our former Yorkie, Angie, at age 14. Abbey loved car rides, trips to the beach, long walks, sitting in her daddy's lap at night, opening presents and her occasional bites of chicken and pizza. She was a great big sister to her little brother, Baxter. We miss her so much, but know she is now at peace.

Our sweet vegetarian with the eternally wiggly nose has joined Xena at the Rainbow Bridge. We hope he will enjoy a romp with her in the fields, where vegetables will be available at the 24-hour salad bar.

Toto on mom's wedding day
"Toto was my angel with fur when alive; now he is truly my guardian angel."
Sephi - 4/1/2001 to 11/2/2011
Sephi is short for Persephone, so named because I was really into Greek mythology when I got her. Sephi was a very special Chow, Shepherd, Lab mix. She helped me through some really tough times when I went through a divorce and when I moved to Kansas, away from friends and family in Texas. She wasn't the brightest dog in the world, or the most lovable. But she was fun to play with and very well-behaved. And she did the cutest bark/howl and backwards tap-dance whenever it was dinnertime. I really miss my little Boo Boo. She was a very special girl.
Rocky - d. 1/26/2014
Rocky was given up by a family who no longer had time for him. He was all silky white with a big black patch over one side of his face and a black line over the other side of his face just on his lip. It is unknown what kind of dog Rocky was, but I suspect a Setter breed and perhaps Border Collie. Rocky was the most lovable dog I have ever met. He was sweet and gentle and loved people, whether they wanted him to love them or not. If Rocky wanted you to pet him, you had best pet him or you'd find a 75 pound dog trying to climb in your lap. Rocky will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Chiffon, the Betta Fish
Joined the All Things Dog Blog family in early August, 2012. He joined the Rainbow Bridge playgroup Sunday, June 8, where we trust he will find Xena, our Retriever mix listed above. Xena always enjoyed having a swimming companion, so we know that Chiffon will be in good paws. Swim swiftly, Chiffon!

Paco
MIss my little man ... March 1, 2011 a little older Chihuahua boy named Paco was rescued from a Puppy mill. He was at least 10 years old at the time. He had one tooth to his credit, weighed less than 8 pounds, and was as lovable as any dog we had ever met. He was soon adopted by a me who flew all the way from the Netherlands to get him. It took a while to find his voice, but what a sweet voice it was. Paco soon traveled everywhere with me, and became quite the spokesdog for rescue dogs and the horror of puppy mills. He shared stories from all over the world about rescue dogs in need.
