It's that time of year again; time for Super Dog Sunday™. It seems we move directly from the holidays to the playoffs! Every game causes a shift in the excitement as more teams drop out of the running. Are you shaking your head and wondering where they get carbs for a dog's energy? That's a great question!  Did you know that almost all vegetables have some carbohydrates? What's more, there are healthy, gluten-free grains that also can fill that bill. For example, I'm looking at the ingredient list for their Canine Lamb Meal Dinner Fare (it's kibble) right now. This unusual and very unique ingredient list is a joy to read--no chemical ingredients!

The primary grain I find on this label is Millet. What's more there are some wonderful probiotics for improved digestion and a healthy balance of good and bad bacteria in the digestive tract. Further, enzymes are present to enhance digestion.

Next up I've got to share the tally I just located on fruits and vegetables. Can you guess? There are no less than 15 different fruits and veggies on the label. And reading on I find some fascinating sources of protein, iron and fiber: beef liver, dried porcine plasma (pig), pumpkin seeds, and almonds. I'm eager to ask my biologist daughter more questions about plasma!
