Meet the Pet Bloggers!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Tanner, Carrie and Oliver

With all the holiday pressures upon me I initially thought this Blog Hop would have to be skipped. And then it happened. I saw the opening was Pacific Time and suddenly I gained 3 hours! So here goes:

A bunch of my fellow bloggers have banded together to help us all get to know one another better. This goes for you as well; enjoy reading up on some of your favorite pet bloggers below. We all hope you enjoy peeking behind the curtain.
  • What’s your favorite non-animal related book? The Hundred Year Lie by Randall Fitzgerald taught me a lot about how we are polluting our earth and what  we can do about it. Yes, I'm a geek about stuff like this.
  • What’s your favorite non-animal related movie? Captain Ron!
  • What’s your favorite non-animal related food? A Starbucks Vanilla Latte
  • What’s one thing you have to do every day? Playtime with the dogs; it's an imperative for inspiration and joy. We do this shortly after I have my latte!
  • What makes you feel fabulous? Crossing everything off my To Do list. Honestly, though, this rarely ever happens.
  • What do you wish you were more skilled at? Remembering all these bloggers' names after I meet them at conferences.
  • What’s your favorite holiday? The one when I'm all caught up and can take off for the dog park to run with the dogs and play Fetch on land with Tanner.
  • Favorite meal? Definitely breakfast.
  • What do you like to do in your free time? Our annual family bowling tournament is at the top of my free time hotlist. The parents vs. the kids. The parents nearly always win :)
  • What one word would people who know you use to describe you? You wouldn't believe it so I'll just skip this question.
  • If your pets could talk, what one word would THEY use to describe you? Mom
  • What is one thing you’ve done that you’re most proud of? Oh dear, this is getting embarrassing. I'm taking a pass on this one too.
  • How is your pet most like you? Tanner is also tall and blonde. Oliver is highly alert to his surroundings and changes in them just like I am. Wow; I never thought about these 2 things. Cool!
  • What can your body do for you that makes you most proud? Given a health condition I have, I'm extremely thrilled to be able to walk my own dogs.
  • If you could change one thing about your life what would it be? I can't seem to find my clone. Do you have it?
  • Other than blogging, what are three things you do that bring you joy? Getting caught up, traveling with my family, making retirement plans with hubby, and watching my kids continue to mature. Oops; that four. My bad!
  • What’s one thing you could do to be more kind to yourself?  Daily Yoga; I'm working on that.
  • What drives you nuts about your pets? Both Tanner and Oliver use their barks only as alerts. I'd actually enjoy hearing them use their voices for other purposes also.
  • What melts your heart? Tanner's thrill over all things Fetch, and Oliver's complete and total attentiveness to me.
  • If you didn’t have your current pets, what pets would you choose to have?
Sounds odd, but I don't think I'd change breeds if that's the question, and I'd be happy to go any of the same routes of adoption used for my current pets. I'd also be just as thrilled to have my last adopted dog, Xena, a mix of a Golden Retriever and a Lab/Chow. She was amazing, enthusiastic, affectionate and devoted. With more RV travel in my future, I wouldn't plan to add another kitty or bunny--too complicated and dangerous for both, and not much fun for either pet!

Thanks for joining in the Hop Carrie! I'd feel fabulous if I could get my To Do list crossed off too. Unfortunately, it seems to be growing rather than getting smaller. :)

Nice to 'officially meet' you!
My brain is terrible with names, too. I always think of that Oatmeal cartoon on it (this one: http://theoatmeal.com/pl/brain/name) - describes it perfectly!

It's great to learn more about you:) I'm a big fan of vanilla lattes too! Can't wait to read more of your blog in the future x

Love the photo you have in this post!

And if you find out where to get a clone, I could use one too. :)

Glad you joined the hop!

Rooooo pawsome to 'meet you'. Your doggies only use their voices for alerts? I could teach them a thing or two. I know how to grunt with disappointment, yelp with excitement, bark with a high pitch to get everyone's attention, bark deeply to scare intruders away, rooooooo when I hear sirens or if I feel I've been hanging out in the rain too long, And then I have a whole other tone range for cuddles and play *waggy tail*

What a tease. Two questions you refused to answer. I guess we'll have to wait for next year to see if we can tempt you to answer them. :)

@Pamela: oh dear ; I missed a Q? I'm officially on vaca and unable to edit. Maybe next time; I'm not usually one to shut up. :)

Great answers Carrie. I love crossing things off my to-do list too. But it always gets filled up again.
Gee, now you've got me wondering about those questions you didn't answer!!!

Fun post! I am a big list maker too - scratching everything off feels wonderful! (But is so rare...)

Oh honey - my dogs use their voices all day long. I'd change that about them. Be careful what we wish for, huh? I loved meeting you today!

Great getting to know more about you! The Family Bowling Tournament sounds like such a fun idea! I can't imagine we could ever get our family all in one place long enough to organize it, but we did take my parents bowling last time they were here for a visit!

Hi Carrie! That to-do-list seems to come up quite often for a lot of us. But on those rare occasions I do get everything done, I feel lost.

Wonderful to officially "meet" you, Carrie! Thanks for joining the hop. I do have to ask though - since you realized you had '3 extra hours' to put a post together, does this mean you were writing after midnight? That's dedication. ;)

And oh gracious - if you ever figure out a way to get better at "Remembering all these bloggers' names after I meet them at conferences." would you please share that information? I'm terrible with names. :o

Hi Carrie. By far my favorite meal "category" is breakfast too. I love, love, love eating breakfast out and it is the one meal of the day I truly enjoy making. I am glad we got to get to know each other some over email earlier and I am glad that I got too see this wide-interest overview.

Love what you shared! Reading everyone's posts, I'm anxious to get home to our dogs AND I'm hungry.

I don't know why Carrie, but I always imagined you as a 20-something brunette. LOL! You always seem to have boundless energy. I also make time every day to play with my dogs and a trip to our dog park is always a holiday for me. I hate not to go because it clears my mind of stress and work. I love that you have a bowling tournament! How fun that must be.

My greatest pleasure is crossing things off my to-do list and like you, it rarely happens. :)

Nice to meet you. When I first saw your comment about being able to cross everything off your To Do list, I thought, "how does she do it?" Then I saw the next part about it happening very rarely. I think, for me, the last time I was able to do it was when I was a baby. To Do: Sleep, eat, create a dirty diaper. All done!

Thank you so much for joining the blog hop Carrie, it was so nice to 'meet' you!

Right now I think it would be quite an accomplishment for me to make a list! LOL I used to be so productive and now I feel like I fall short and I think it's because I stopped making lists! I'm going to make a list today and the first thing on it is going to be make a list. Every. Day.
