Oliver and Patches Both Enjoy
 the Starchaser Cat Track
Oliver and Patches are still sharing, now that Oliver has learned his lesson. The rule book apparently states that all toys belong to Patches unless she abandons them temporarily. Any moment now, she's like to let Oliver know he needs to get lost.

Today's Giveaway Launch
Tanner shared the prizes we're offering up in today's giveaway, but what he didn't tell you yesterday is that he had one toy stashed for himself. Yup! That's a Fetch toy that floats, and let me tell you, he was on it in a flash. No way, no how was that toy leaving this house in a box. Sometimes I just have to give in. These boys do work hard for their kibble--product reviews, photo shoots, and last week they had a private blogger demo for our friend Missy at Dogs for the PAWS.

I'm sure you'll all love the 4 products we are featuring in this hand off. You can read more about them at my review here. Want to learn more about Petco products? Get into the conversation at Facebook and Twitter. I'll see you there!
Mine!

FYI, if the rafflecopter entry form is misbehaving again, you can be the pack leader and whip it into shape. Just click on the post title above and it will sit up straight and be ready for action at the bottom of this post. Enjoy the journey!

I love Petco's new whole pet initiative. I buy only all natural, grain free for our fur kids.

it's so important to work on every aspect of your pets to help them grow and learn. Love the new motto

I think its good Petco is going in this direction. It seems like many people are starting to buy from smaller companies to get healthy things for their dogs, because the large stores don't focus on it. Glad to hear they are trying to move in that direction.

I am so glad to see Petco coming out with new toys to keep our dogs learning and busy.

I think its great to care for our pets like that. I can get them healthy treats. They are really happy about that.

I'm glad that Petco is realizing that not all dogs are the same, and that they need specialized attention. I'm very happy that they are moving in a great new direction.

The focus on all aspects of a dog's well-being is great. Not only for my own five Treeing Walker Coonhounds, but for my rescue's dogs (mostly hounds, too).

I like the focus on all around well being. I can't seem to get their Whole Pets section of the website to load, though.

I really like Petco's new focus on all parts of life. It seems like that will make their products even more relevant for my particular dogs.

I like this philosophy because I try to feed and treat my dog the best that I can with a limited income. I know that everything I buy will be safe and promote a long healthy life for her.

All four of these aspects are very important for me and my dogs. We all try to eat healthy, we love to play and go for walks, we love to cuddle, and Maya is a social butterfly... if butterflies were 65+lbs. I love Petco's initiative and we may very well go visiting them more often - especially Pierson who needs more socializing.

I like the philosophy, not something expected from a big chain store. My dogs are pretty much my kids, so this helps me trust Petsmart more and want to shop there more often.

emeraldmaz said...

I commented with petsmart not petco...probably because we don't have a petco around here, so I've never been to one. Would love to go sometime!

I think those are good aspects to focus on as we don't think of our animals as pets anymore. They are family. And we treat them as such. Well maybe better sometimes. LOL. And we are more into knowing what are babies are getting. Thanks for the giveaway.

All four aspects are truly important. Our pets are truly family members and should be treated with the same care we give ourselves.

Great approach for your pet's overall well-being!

I like the approach :) I love dogs, and taking the time to try and figure out what they need/like is wonderful :)

I think it is a great idea. I like it! I have been wanting to buy toys for my dog that will make her use her mind to figure out how to get the treats. The more she uses her mind the younger she'll stay! She needs to keep that mind going! Just like humans need to!

I think it is a great idea!

I love petco's new initiative and think it is an aspect about owning a dog that needs to be brought to every pet owner's attention.

Stephanie said...

i think it is interesting, and different. I will be interested to see how it works out, if anything is changed.

I have liked all of the new toys and emphasis on helping animals to THINK; it must be good for them (it's fun anyhow)

I have an Australian Shepherd that gets very anxious when we are away, and when she hears noises, and when she is bored, and when something looks weird, and on and on...what keeps her happy are toys and activities. She has her own basket full of toys which we have to replenish periodically because she loses them in the woods. Toys that challenge, amuse, and comfort are the best thing for her.

I love that they really care about people and their pets, not just making money! :)

i love the petco in my area. they know me b/c i go to get free food to donate. they also know my dogs. one of my dogs was featured on the national website for halloween a few yrs ago. i like that they are getting more natural products, but they need more. i rarely find treats that i like that are all natural and their dental section is not that great. they do carry the dog food i use now.

I love the focus on dogs' cognitive development. We have a few puzzle toys which keep the dogs busy. Artie is like Tanner, he wants balls and other toys he can fetch. Water is great too.

I love petcos new approach as there is so much more to pet care than just food water and shelter. Although those three things are essential, for pets to be truely happy and taken care of, all of their needs need to be met, and that includes Physical, mental, emotional and social needs. This is a great approach as many pet owners tend to forget about those extra things that dogs need to thrive....they remember the basics of food, water and shelter and vet care, but people forget things like the fact that "fido" actually needs to be petted and loved on, that "fido" actually needs the social interactions from other dogs and/or his humans, he needs things to stimulate his mind.... Many dogs get in trouble for doing what we consider bad behavior, like chewing up things or getting into things, and many times dogs do things like this because they are not stimulated and they are bored. A dog who is destructive out of boredom would greatly benefit from some of the toys and other things designed to make dogs think. Kongs stuffed with treats, interactive treat toys that make dogs push levers or move things to get the treat, interactive toys that have small toys inside of big toys, stuff like this to engage a dog keeps him entertained as well as occupied and a busy dog is a happy dog. I love the great variety of prizes offered in this giveaway....so many great things for doggies and my dogs would love it all! dh_jax@yahoo.com

Great idea for new pet owners who may not know what to focus on/the essentials when buying pet supplies!

I think this approach is great. It'll help with behavioral issues with mental stimulation.

I think it's a fantastic approach. I try to think about what sort of toys will interest my animals and meet various needs (ok, and sometimes I just buy a toy because it's cute), so it's nice to know petco's also putting some thought into the play needs of my furry friends.

G K said...

I think it's great. It's focusing more on what's best for our pets' all around health.

Linda Meyers-Gabbard said...

It is great. Pets are people too after all

Anna said...

I think Petco taking the next step is great. It helps out the pet lovers by giving a more in depth focus on the pet which is rewarding to the pet and relieves anxiety for the owner.

S Carter said...

I love the new approach. It takes many things to keep a pet healthy, happy and well-adjusted.

I think it's great - a holisitic approach includes all of the important aspects of an animal (just like we do for people).

I love the concept, every pet is different and it will be very helpful to new pet owners to make sure they get everything their new pet needs
