Dog Park Easter Egg Hunt!

by Carrie Boyko, CEB

Off to the Park for an Egg Hunt!
Want to join in the fun? Here's a few tips for a safe egg hunt for your dog:

  • These plastic eggs are only for the photo. I don't recommend them for dogs. In place of these, choose hard treats and select a "clean" grassy area that is generally not used widely by dogs for their business :)
  • If, like me, you have more than one dog, take a helper along and assign one person to supervise each dog's findings.
  • Since treats are not the safest thing in a "dog park", try to locate another area for this event, where other dogs are not present. This will help assure you don't have any food aggression between dogs. Your fenced in back yard may be just perfect!
  • Need help with food aggression? Check out yesterday's post on this topic at the Weekly Wag.

Providing Easter activities for dogs is a great idea. They can enjoy the day just like children. The suggestion shared regarding the venue and the type of toys is really helpful.
