Tanner's Last Hurrah

We're so excited we can hardly stand it. A brand new button is coming next week. It better represents our desire to offer giveaways, contests, and prizes for the entire pet-loving world. Be sure to stop in and see the new badge on my blog when you are here next week. It will be in my sidebar in the very same spot as the old badge.

If you're a blogger worried about having to replace your old button, set those worries aside. We'll be replacing it for you by changing out the image attached to the code. If you've entered the button with code this change will occur without any effort on your part. Those of you who used a linked image will need to replace the button yourself.

Two weeks ago I started a new feature to help bloggers getting started with product reviews. Product Review Pointers will appear each week in a short, actionable format. You can read last week's tip here. No long posts that take weeks to tackle. Now, let's get to this week's tip:

Pet Product Review Tip #3: Test Your Plan with a Practice Review

Now that you have come up with a plan for your first review, run a practice review first, skipping the company contacts and free product. This way there will be no scrutiny on your performance and you can evaluate yourself and look for ways to improve. You can start with conference swag or a low-priced sale item that you're willing to give away at your own cost. Another inexpensive, yet valuable prize, is an envelope full of pet coupons clipped from newspapers and that junk mail that we all complain about. Try it!
