Tanner and Oliver had me out for our daily walk this morning and I was reminded of this ongoing problem of many dogs when we greeted a Chubby Newfie that could have almost passed as a bear. Sweet as he was, I know those extra pounds are not doing him any favors. Watch your dog's weight, based on a chart of average weights for your dog's breed. Ask your vet for advice on his ideal weight. Or do the at-home test.
Looking down at your dog's back, he should have a noticeable waistline. If not, check his ribcage. Can you feel the individual ribs? No? Time to watch Fido's intake and slow down on the treats. Remember that they have more calories than many dog food brands, so it's important to dole them out carefully.
Today I'm launching a giveaway in a big way. Six winners will get to win TWENTY POUNDS of Organix! You'll be able to choose from puppy, adult, grain-free or weight management--your choice. This is huge, so tell your friends, put up a sign in your yard, or chat it up on Twitter. I'll help with that in the Rafflecopter entry form below.

ReplyDeleteNo, they haven't tried any yet, but they would love to try the grain free!
ReplyDeleteI haven't - or rather Ralphie hasn't tried any Castor & Pollux products, but he would probably have to be on the weight management one anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs are currently on Organix Grain-Free and are doing extremely well on it! They really love their food. To win a 20 lb bag of Organix would just be fantastic! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway : )
ReplyDeleteBandit loved Organix in the brown bag and he did great while on it. He is in a rotation diet between Organix and the different flavors of Taste of the Wild.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, our dogs tried Organix 5lb bag and love it. I put myself on contest entry hiatus with you after the win but 20lbs? I'm in! Thanks for these great opportunities.
ReplyDelete@lennyg--no such thing as contest entry hiatus!
ReplyDeleteMy dogs have tried Natural Ultramix Lamb & Rice Adult Dog Food and liked it. I normally feed them grain free so I would love for them to try the grain free and poultry free as some of them have allergies. I normally feed Earthborn Holistic Grain Free Coastal Catch and think my nine rescued dogs and two foster dogs would love to try a 20lb bag of Organix! Thank you!

My mom's dog Bella loves Organix. Cannot remember what formula exactly, just that it gas chicken and brown rice
ReplyDeleteWe love Castor and Pollux Organix! In our household, we actually use the Weight Management formula due to it's protein content, not for chubby pups. Benny has a medical issue that requires a lower protein food, which is very difficult to find while still maintaining quality ingredients. Organix saves the day!
ReplyDeleteWe have not tried the Organix pet foods, but I would love to give them a try.
ReplyDeleteHaven't tried any, but would love to! : )

ReplyDeleteYes, thanks to other Organix giveaways you've had! :) They've had grain free and adult varieties.
ReplyDeleteI have used Castor & Pollux products before and liked them.
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot the second part! We have used the adult chicken.
ReplyDeleteMy dogs have tried Castor and Pollux's Natural Ultramix formula before. I personally like the Natural Ultramix Grain-Free Adult Dog Food because it is both soy and canola oil free. Many companies seem to be leaning towards using canola oil and I love the fact the Natural Ultramix does not use canola oil in their formula with poultry.
ReplyDeleteNeat giveaway. Thank you. Yes, Vicki (my baby of 10 and a rescue mutt) has tried both Organix and Naturals Ultraix by C & P. I'm happy to say she ate them both with no trouble and it's one of the dry foods in my food rotation.
